Lily Next-Gen drone ups the ante

lily-next-gen-droneDrones are all the rage these days, with so many different companies coming up with their very own take on what a drone should be like, and what it is capable of. While there are many pretenders to the throne, there are only a few companies which are able to deliver as promised. Lily is one of the more reliable brands, having launched the Lily Next-Gen. What makes the Lily Next-Gen stand out from its predecessors? For instance, this is a drone in the spirit of the Lily flying camera, where it is deemed to be a fun and simple selfie drone for extremely active people.

Sporting a point-and-shoot camera that is able to capture video in 4K Ultra HD or 1080p resolution, you will be able to ensure that precious memories are always stored in high resolution for editing later on. All of the video and still shots are shot using a Sony IMX 214 camera, where you will be able to enjoy 13MP stills in addition to the high resolution video. There are also multiple one-touch functions such as flight operations and media sharing to make it all the easier to use, while the Lily Next-Gen comes with up to 18 minutes of flight time which is extremely impressive considering the rather small form factor of the drone.

The Lily Next-Gen drone is also smart enough to capture follow-me video selfies thanks to object tracking software that can follow the user or another person. Apart from that, it is able to perform non-stop 360⁰ orbits around single point, letting you get that perfect Matrix shot done. For those who want to push the boundaries always, the Lily Next-Gen can be flown up to 3,280 feet from its take-off point, and is also equally adept at flying indoors courtesy of its optic flow and ultrasonic positioning technology that helps it to avoid obstacles below it. To further ensure that it does not get lost when outdoors, the Lily Next-Gen sports geofencing and automatic return to its take-off point. Expect to fork out $699 for the Lily Next-Gen Pro.

Studio Stick portable recording studio for smartphones

studio-stickThe modern day smartphone is indeed an indispensable tool for anyone and everyone, where it functions as our primary camera, our navigation device, our portable media player, our fitness tracker, and for some, a simple microphone to take down audio notes as and when required. All of these in addition to it being a primary communications device to keep us connected to the rest of the world. However, no one has really tried to turn the smartphone into a portable recording studio, not until now with the introduction of the Studio Stick.

The Studio Stick is touted to be the world’s first portable recording studio for smartphones which will enable users to record high quality songs/audio regardless of where they are, and at a far lower cost compared to renting a professional studio. Being a Kickstarter project, the Studio Stick will first need to raise the necessary amount of funds before it will become reality. The ultimate objective is to democratize the studio recording experience, so that artists can gain access to a professional recording studio without having to blow their budget.

Arriving in a tiny, 20-inch container which can open and expand to an adjustable height, the Studio Stick will feature a microphone, pop filter, mic stand, reflective filter, and phone holder once it is opened. This will then allow artists to be able to record high quality songs just about anywhere and at any time, making it a great tool to have around when inspiration hits. With the Studio Stick app, artists can also record, mix, and master songs, as though they were right smack in a traditional recording studio. Not only that, you can also proceed to sell or purchase beats directly from other users through the apps marketplace, and once the songs are completed, feel free to distribute them to major online retailers such as iTunes, Google Play, and Spotify among others via the Studio Stick App. Place a pre-order for the Studio Stick on Kickstarter now for $274 a pop.

MSI Vortex G25 is a small form factor gaming beast

vortex-g25When it comes to gaming, one very important element that most people would take into consideration first would be the kind of hardware that the gaming PC packs underneath the hood. The case itself might look really, really pretty, but if it does not have any high performance parts within, it would amount to nothing, either. MSI knows this, which is why they have come up with the Vortex G25 gaming desktop that will not only be able to deliver the level of performance that hardcore gamers crave, it will also look good without taking up too much space on your desk.

The Vortex G25 is not a conventional gaming desktop, courtesy of its small form factor setup. Taking it apart, it will be powered by an 8th generation Intel Core i7 processor, with the ability to handle up to a GTX 1070 graphics card, all within a 2.5-liter chassis. Now that is really compact, no matter which angle you are looking from. Apart from that, the Vortex G25 gaming desktop will also boast of MSI’s Cooler Boost Titan technology that will feature dual blade fans that work in tandem with eight heatpipes. This setup will be able to ensure proper cooling of the CPU and GPU, which in turn provides a 30% performance gain compared to the previous generation of processors.

One of the main reasons for developing the Vortex G25 is to have it function as a gateway for portable and convenient VR experiences. The front panel itself features a power jack which can help to power connected VR headsets, while there is also an HDMI port and a couple of USB 3.0 ports in terms of connectivity. MSI’s very own Nahimic VR software will be able to optimize performance and virtual surround sound so that the whole virtual reality experience is even more immersive.

Expect the MSI Vortex G25 to retail for $1,999 and $1,499 for the Vortex G25-022US and the Vortex G25-023US, respectively.

G-Bike is the first carry-on style electric bicycle in the world

g-bikeWhen it comes to bicycles to get around for the urban commuter, there are many different kinds of models to choose from. Many of us would settle for a regular two-wheeler with a fair number of gears in order to help us tackle the trickier uphill segments along the route. However, regular sized bicycles are normally not allowed to be carried on board trains, making end-to-end connectivity a wee bit more challenging. Portable bicycles or foldable ones, on the other hand, do not really offer the same kind of “kick” as a regular sized bicycle. Enter GreenWheel’s G-Bike, the first carry-on style electric bicycle in the world.

The G-Bike will boast of a sturdy, secure frame with a trio of folding points at the back wheel, mid body, and base of the handlebar stem. This special design will enable the bike to neatly collapse down to its carrier form, where you can then bring it with you right behind like an obedient puppy, or a luggage carry-on.

As for its technical specifications, they are rather impressive. Boasting of a long lasting battery life of up to 55 miles in range (this will also vary depending on the steepness of the slopes involved, among others), we love the incorporation of puncture resistant tires that feature an integrated puncture guard in order to deliver all-terrain access. The 36V 250W motor is able to provide significant torque and speed to handle any kind of slope, while the battery can be removed to recharge, taking a mere 4 hours to do so. There is also a high quality LCD display that showcases important details such as speed, distance, and battery life remaining, while Shimano Nexus Gears delivers easy riding with the feel of a 3-speed bike.

Expect the G-Bike to retail for $1,799 apiece if you are interested in going green in style.
