Magellan TRX7 introduces a HD camera for off-roading navigation

magellan-trx7-csMagellan does more than navigation devices and dashboard cameras, as their latest device, the TRX7 CS, will function as the only navigation device in the market that will boast of thousands of pre-loaded trails as well as landmarks, street navigation, and High Definition (HD) video recording and photo taking capability, all without the need for having a data connection for this bad boy. This means that when equipped with the Magellan TRX7 CS, off-roaders are able to navigate from concrete jungle to trailhead, and then upload imagery from all of those travels.

The TRX7 CS marks the first-ever combined turn-by-turn GPS and HD camera system that has been specially designed with off-roaders in mind. It is extremely tough, because that was what it was built for — and will change the way adrenaline junkies navigate, capture and share their trail rides with everyone. It is now a snap to easily and confidently navigate from your front door to over 117,000 pre-loaded trails, record video/picture highlights with detailed geotagging, navigate home before uploading images to waypoints on Magellan’s interactive website.

The camera itself is no pushover, as it boasts of adjustable light settings, autofocus, a LED flash, a countdown timer and the ability to capture panoramic images/time lapse videos. You would not have to worry about how you are able to remember where all those adventures took place either down the road — as it comes with automatic geo location tagging ability. All of the featured trails have been approved for motorized traffic by government agencies such as the U.S. Forest Service and Bureau of Land Management, and of course, it is built tough — being shock resistant and IP67 dust and waterproof.

The Selfie Drone captures your best look on its own

selfie-droneHammacher Schlemmer has been well known to produce some rather stunning devices and put them up for sale, and this particular model is something which not everyone would have thought of. Since drones ended up being all the rage some time ago, and the selfie phenomena continues to grow as many smartphones now feature a front-facing camera that have an equal or higher megapixel count compared to the back camera. Why not merge the two together and you would end up with what is known as the $299.95 Selfie Drone?

The Selfie Drone is deemed to be an easy-to-fly camera which will enable one to share “dronies” instantly to a social network of your choice. Just how large is it? Well, it is roughly the size of a Belgian waffle, where the novice flyer will be able to enjoy a 12MP shooter with an accompanying flash just in case there are some low light conditions that need to be looked into. This Selfie Drone is more than capable of capturing Full HD video (1080p resolution) without missing a beat, and it delivers smooth operation with mechanical stabilization. The best part is, all of its intricate parts can be controlled from a smartphone.

You are now able to take a group photo with family or friends in an easier manner than ever before, and the best part is this: no longer do you need to learn how to master the selfie stick — as you have now upgraded to that of the selfie drone. The Selfie Drone is capable of taking off or landing from your hand, in addition to having a working range of 98′ which should be far enough to capture even the largest group selfies ever. IT even comes with obstacle avoidance to create a stable flight path for this flying tripod.

There is a microSD card slot to stash all of the recorded photos and videos, and it features a free iOS/Android app to work with.

LG reveals world’s thinnest hotel TV

lg-oled-wBeing at a hotel would mean one thing — you are either there for business or for leisure. Regardless of which particular category that you fall under, you would definitely need to have some downtime to enjoy a break, and this more often than not includes watching some TV. While just about all decent hotel chains have already made the jump from a regular chunky CRT to a flat screen TV of sorts, how about upping the ante? South Korean company LG has stepped up to the plate with the thinnest hotel TV in the world which claims to deliver unmatched picture quality with a unique design.

Known as the LG OLED “Wallpaper” Hotel TV, this special razor-thin display more or less ends up as one with the wall. This is the world’s first 65-inch class OLED Wallpaper Hotel TV (going by the model number 65EV960H) that will merge LG’s industry-leading hotel TV technology alongside the sleek aesthetic and unparalleled image quality of the award-winning LG SIGNATURE OLED TV W.

It sports the special ability to turn pixels completely on or off, which means that the LG OLED TV is capable of rendering perfect black levels. In other words, viewers will end up with an infinite level of contrast in order to enjoy vibrant colors, immersive details and truly lifelike images which regular LCD displays are unable to produce.

Just how thin is it in order to obtain such an accolade? We are looking at a mere 3.86mm (0.15 inches), which would allow the 65EV960H to be easily installed in luxury hotel suites using ultra-slim mounting brackets that come with a magnetic mat in order to create a truly seamless design. This makes it end up as though it is one with the wall. All of its electrical components will be housed in the device’s Media Box, where it is hooked up via an ultra-thin flat cable, so that the panel can lie flush against the wall like a piece of art while making installation a snap.
