The SHOTBOX – light boxes don’t have to be terrible

ShotBox

If you have ever used a light box to take photos, you’ve either created your own out of paper and PVC, or bought a very flimsy fabric and plastic framework. That’s only one fraction of the setup though, since you also have to get lights, bulbs that are the same color/power, and find a spot to put everything. They get the job done, but are usually stationary setups, and aren’t easy to quickly break down.

If you’re always on the move and need to be as streamlined as possible, then the SHOTBOX is going to be a lifesaver. This is a collapsible light box made of durable plastic which makes for a quick setup, and has super-bright LEDs that will last for 20,000 hours of use. There are holes in the top of the box to get top-down shots, and it comes with white, black, blue, and green backgrounds for whatever you might need to shoot for.

This measures 17 x 15 x 4″ when folded down, and it’s not going to take up too much more space when it’s fully up. This isn’t cheap at $169, but considering it’s portable, seems a bit more stable than your average box, and has everything you need, it’s not completely far-fetched. It’s likely a more ideal purchase for roving photographers who need every option available in their arsenal without having to drive a semi around.
